Norfolk Virginian May 7, 1897

STERLING - At the residence of parents, No. 209 Brown Avenue, Brambleton Ward, 
May 6th at 3:45 p.m., MARY ADDISON, infant daughter of J.C. and Jessie Sterling, 
aged 4 months and 7 days.
The funeral will take place from the residence THIS (Friday) AFTERNOON at 4:30 
p.m. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend.

Our lovely bud, so young and fair,
Called hence by early doom,
Just came to show how sweet flowers
In Paradise would bloom.

Ere sin could harm or sorrow fade?
Death came with friendly care,
The opening bud to heaven conveyed,
And bade it blossom there.

Little Mary Addison, infant daughter of Mr. J.C. and Mrs. Jessie Sterling, died 
yesterday at their residence, No. 209 Brown Avenue, at 3:45 p.m., aged 4 months 
and 6 days. The funeral will take place at 4 o'clock this afternoon.
