Richmond Times Dispatch (Richmond, Virginia) Friday, July 7, 1922

Hopewell Va., July 6-Mrs. Emma Goffigan Sterling, 67 years old, mother of 
Mrs. Thomas B. Robertson, wife of Judge Robertson, of the Corporation Court 
of Hopewell, died yesterday in her home at Virginia Beach. Her funeral will 
take place tomorrow morning at 11 o’clock from Oliver’s Funeral Parlors, 610 
˝ East Freemason Street Norfolk, and the funeral will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery, Norfolk. Mrs. Sterling is survived by her husband, William H. 
Sterling; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas B. Robertson, of City Point, and Miss 
Belle Sterling; one son, William H. Sterling, Jr., of Virginia Beach; one 
sister, Mrs. Bessie Baxter, of Saratoga, N.Y., and a granddaughter, Miss 
Roberta Sterling, of Norfolk.
