Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, December 1, 1999 
Lessie M. Stevens, 79, of the 5600 block of Tidewater Drive, died Nov. 27, 1999,
in Norfolk Health Care.

Born in Norfolk, she retired as a domestic engineer 25 years ago after 35 years
of service. She was the widow of MacDaniel Stevens Sr. and was a member of
Woodland Avenue Baptist Church, Norfolk.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia A. Stevens; a son, MacDaniel Stevens
Jr.; a brother, Joseph Johnson Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, other relatives
and friends. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Johnson Jr. and Gertrude
Johnson.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Woodland Avenue Baptist
Church, 2736 Woodland Ave., by the Rev. Serafio Fontanilla. Burial will be in
Calvary Cemetery . A wake will be held at Hale Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m.
Friday. The family will leave from 2428 Shafer St., Norfolk, the day of the
funeral.
