D. Steward of 1362 Chapel St., who died March 4, were held Sunday, March 8 at First Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. W. L. Hamilton, pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church, officiated. The Junior Choir of which Miss Steward was a member rendered selections at the service and at the grave. Miss Madeline Lassiter and Mrs. Hattie Joe rendered solos. A beautiful blanket of carnations, lilies and roses covered the casket. Members of the the junior choir, junior missionaries, junior Elks, Waldorf and St. Mark's Lodge, attended the funeral. Pallbearers were Thomas Cheatham, Thomas Weaver, Samuel Whitley, Louis Smith, James Booth, Clinton Lee, Malachi Powell and Samuel Simmons. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
