CHESAPEAKE - Robert Joseph Stewart Sr., 70, of 815 Rutledge Road, a native of 
New York who lived here 36 years, died Saturday in a Norfolk hospital. He was 
the husband of Mrs. Roselyn Walsh Stewart.
He was a warehouseman and was a retired, 15-year employee of Naval Air Station. 
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic 
Church.
Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Patricia S. Taylor and Miss Sydney 
E. Stewart of Greensboro, N.C., Miss Ellen M. Stewart of Norfolk, and Miss Carol 
J. Stewart of Chesapeake; a son, Robert J. Stewart Jr. of Chesapeake; five 
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Matthew’s Catholic 
Church by the Rev. James Guttendorf. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A 
prayer service will be said tonight at 7 in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk 
Chapel.
