Annie Mae Stewart, 74, of the 3000 block of S. Lakebridge Drive, died Oct. 25, 
2006, in Lake Taylor hospital. She was a retired nurse from Lake Taylor Hospital 
after 25 years of service. The widow of Charles W. Stewart Sr., she was a member 
of Celestial Baptist Church, Portsmouth, where she was president of the 
Deaconess Board, Missionary and Jolly Workers. Survivors include three 
daughters, Sylvia Stewart Bell, Brenda Brown (Deacon Ernest Brown) and Alicia 
Beech (Russell); four sons, Charles W. Stewart Jr. (Emma), Carlton Stewart, 
Kenneth Stewart and Randall Stewart; and a host of grandchildren, great-
grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a son, 
Stanley Stewart and a grandson, Kenneth Smith. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. 
Saturday in Celestial Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Leon J. Boone. 
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. Viewing will begin at noon today at 
Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham St., Portsmouth. The family will be at the 
funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today to receive friends. The family will also be 
at the residence. The body will be in church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
