Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 10, 1950
Thomas Hampden Stiff, husband of Mrs. Anne Miller Stiff and son of the late 
Joseph Willard and Mrs. Emma Elise Nottingham Stiff, died at a Norfolk hospital 
yesterday at 6:30 p.m.
Mr. Stiff was a native of the Eastern Shore and a resident of this section for 
the past 45 years residing at 213 83d Street, Virginia Beach, at the time of his 
death.  He was traveling representative of the Virginia-Carolina Chemical 
Company.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Anne Miller Stiff, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. 
Cheslie Meredith, of Lawrenceville and Mrs. W.G. Brown, of Sumter, S.C.; two 
nieces and two nephews.  Funeral services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver 
Funeral Apartments Wednesday at noon by the Rev. Paul Chaplin, assistant rector 
of Christ and St. Luke's Church, of which Mr. Stiff was a member.  Burial will 
be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
