NORFOLK - William Earl Stinnette, 82, died March 10, 2005, in his residence. Born 
to the late William Taylor and Virginia Bennett Casper Stinnette of Oak City, 
N.C., he was a retired U.S. Coast Guard veteran, a member of St. Pius X Catholic 
Church, and retired as a unit coordinator for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Marie Stinnette; his twin brother, 
William Taylor Stinnette Jr.; and his sister, Emily Harris.
He is survived by four children, Dr. William A. Stinnette of Atlanta, Anthony Earl 
Stinnette and son Tyler M. of Norfolk, Mary Ann V. Stinnette of Virginia Beach, 
Matthew F. Stinnette and wife Mary J. and their daughters, Jessica Samantha and 
Shannon Giovanna Eppie of Chesapeake; two sisters, Peggy Modlin and husband Clyde 
of Portsmouth, Jean Mobley and husband Haywood of Rocky Mount, N.C.; three 
sisters-in-law, Pauline Aharonian of Lewiston, Maine, Angela Patrikas of 
Manchester, N.H., Rita Zanoni of Mexico City, Maine; a brother-in-law, Francis 
Puiia of Lewiston.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Pius X Catholic Church by Father 
David Nott. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 10:30 a.m. 
prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 
Norfolk.
The family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Arrangements 
by Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel.
