Norfolk - Mrs. Annie Elnora Stokes, 43, wife of Clarence E. Stokes, 303 Reeves
avenue, died unexpectedly at her residence Monday, Oct. 6, at 5:40 a.m.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 12, at St. Paul CME Church with the
pastor, the Rev. John T. McClennon officiating. Mrs. Stokes, faithful church
worker and a highly beloved character, was a member of the church’s female usher
board. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Morning Glory Funeral Home in charge.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stokes is survived by a sister, Mrs. Susie
Jones; two nieces, Mrs. Doris Stokes and Miss Virginia Woodard, Norfolk, and
several other relatives and friends.
