Norfolk - Final rites for Mrs. Mary Lou Stokes, who died June 19 at her son’s 
home, 1119 Chapel street, were held Thursday in Riddick Funeral Chapel.  The 
Rev. H. T. Myers officiated.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

A native of Brunswick County, Mrs. Stokes was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
Wilson Hankins and the widow of Henry Bell Stokes.  She was a member of Henry 
Street Neighborhood Garden Club.

Surviving are a son, Henry Bell Stokes Jr., a daughter, Mrs. L. S. Dixon, both 
of Norfolk;  three grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and two great great-
grandsons.
