NORFOLK - Rex F. ''Pappy'' Stokley, 91, died in a local hospital on April 12, 
2001. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church since 1947 and retired 
from Stokley Services Inc. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, 
Kathryn Stokley. Rex was a devoted husband, father and friend.

He is survived by two sons, George Stokley and William Stokley and his wife, 
Janet, all of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Nancy Adkins and her husband, Daryl, of 
Norfolk; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Christ the King 
Catholic Church by Fr. Brian Rafferty, celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Mary's 
Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at 
Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, with a prayer service at 7:30 
p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the National Shrine of St. Jude, 205 W. 
Monroe St., Chicago, IL 60606.
