Norfolk - Last rites were held for Lennie Stone Jr., 46, of 4012 Parker avenue 
in First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, Jan. 1.  The Rev. J. Jasper Freeman 
officiated.

Mr. Stone, who died Sunday after a short illness, was a member of Tidewater Area 
Business League and a committeeman of Lamberts Point Area STOP Project, 
Outreach.

He worked for the Post Office for 29 years.

At First Baptist Church, he was a deacon, scout committeeman, secretary of  the 
Deacons Benevolent Association and former Sunday School teacher and scoutmaster.

Surviving, besides his wife, Mrs. Irene Stone, and mother, Mrs. Maude Stone, are 
a stepdaughter, Mrs. Eloise Earls of Portsmouth;  a stepson, William Baynes of 
Washington, DC;  two sisters, Mrs. Claudine Young and Mrs. Audrey Lawe, both of 
Norfolk and three brothers, Ernest Stone of Norfolk and Clarence and Horace 
Stone, both of Detroit MI.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Jones Funeral Home in charge.
