Strawhand died at her residence, Thirteenth and Norview avenue, Willoughby Beach, yesterday afternoon at 12:40 o'clock after a long illness. She was a native of Nansemond County and has been a resident of Norfolk for 30 years. She was the daughter of the late Capt. W.T. and Mrs. Julia Anne Mathews. Surviving her besides her husband, are three sons, T.L Strawhand, Jr. of Norfolk, Norman M. Strawhand of Roanoke and Vernon C. Strawhand of Milwaukee, Wis., one daughter, Miss Julia A. Strawhand of Norfolk, two brothers, J.M. Mathews of Norfolk and W.C. Mathews of Chuckatuck and one sister, Mrs. Clara Sawyer of Richmond. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at the funeral home of James V. Derry, 346 West Princess Anne road, at 3:30 o'clock. The Rev. John W. Rustin, pastor of Ghent Methodist Episcopal Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
