Virginian-Pilot December 8, 1936
Mrs. Janie Devine Streetman, aged 41, widow of Jap N. Streetman, and daughter of 
the late Charles J. and Mrs. Mary Faucette Devine, a native of Littleton, N.C., 
and, for the past 18 years, a resident of Norfolk, died at 4:20 o’clock 
yesterday morning at a local hospital. She resided at 1709 Bellevue avenue. 
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. C. Liroy Allsbrook, and a granddaughter, Jane 
Carolyn Allsbrook, of Norfolk; a brother, Francis Devine, of Richmond; three 
sisters, Miss Marie Devine and Mrs. J. M. Higgs, of Rocky Mount, N.C., Mrs. T. 
C. Rowe, of Portsmouth. The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver’s Funeral 
Apartments, 610-12 East Freemason street, to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, of 
which she was a member, for services tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock. Burial will 
be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Jap N. Streetman, husband of Mrs. Streetman, died 
about a month ago.
