Virginian-Pilot May 3, 1925
Robert J. Stubbs, aged 72, died yesterday morning at 11:25 o’clock at his 
residence, 622 South May avenue. He was a native of England, but had been a 
resident of Norfolk for 40 years. Besides his wife, Mr. Stubbs is survived by two 
sons, M. J. Stubbs, U.S.N., and Robert O. Stubbs, of Norfolk; one daughter, Mrs. 
Elizabeth M. Cherry, of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Hartley, of Boston, and nine 
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock at St. Mary’s 
Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
