Virginian Pilot August 14, 1986

Edward S. Sturgis, 63, of the 3500 block of Westminster Ave., a retired merchant 
seaman, died Aug. 13, 1986, in Norfolk.
Mr. Sturgis, a Norfolk native, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy C. Jacobs and Beverly K. Conner, both of 
Virginia Beach; two sons, Edward S. Sturgis Jr., of Florida and Charles D. 
Sturgis of Chesapeake; a sister, Helen Rodgers of Ohio; two brothers, Claude 
"Dealy" Sturgis of Virginia Beach and Jack Sturgis of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren 
and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Elmwood Cemetery, Gay 
& Oman Funeral Homes, Francis Gay Chapel, is handling arrangements.
