 Virginian Pilot January 24, 1902 

The funeral of the infant child of Mrs. W.K. Sturgiss, of Pocahontas Avenue, 
that died Wednesday night, will take place from the residence of its parents at 
10 o'clock this morning, and will be conducted by the Rev. C.H. McGhee, pastor 
of the Methodist Church.

 Eva Gertrude Sturgis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.K. Sturgis, of Pocahontas 
Avenue, died at the home of her parents last Wednesday night at 10:30 o'clock. 
The funeral took place yesterday morning at 10 o'clock from the family 
residence. The services were conducted by the Rev. C.H. McGhee. Interment was in 
Elmwood Cemetery. The little child was one year, one month and seventeen days 
old. She had been sick for a short while only. This is the third child that Mr. 
and Mrs. Sturgis have lost by death within the last three months.
