Norfolk - Mrs. Mary Williams Sturrup, the wife of John Sturrup, died at a local
hospital Friday, April 24, at 3:00 a.m. She was a native of Norfolk VA, and the
youngest daughter of Mrs. Mary C. Williams and the late John Williams.

Besides her mother, surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Eunice W. Winn, Mrs.
Thomasine Brown, and Mrs. Lola W. Johnson; two nieces, three nephews and a host
of relatives and friends.

She was a member of St. John AME Church. The funeral services were conducted at
the Riddick’s Funeral Home, Sunday, April 26, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. J. R.
Johnson, Jr., D.D., minister of St. John’s Church.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
