The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Wednesday July 4, 1945
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Jones Sturtridge, 25, wife of John Davidson Sturtridge, and 
daughter of the late Burrel Jones and Mrs. Eva Mae Davis Jones, a native of 
Union City, Ga., and a resident of Hampton, died yesterday at 4:20 a.m. at a 
local hospital. Besides her husband, John Davis Sturtridge, she is survived by 
her maternal grandmother, Mrs. F.M. Davis, of Fairburn, Ga.; two aunts, Mrs. 
James W. Lewis, of Stonewall, Ga., and Mrs. Welman Luck, of Mobile, Ala.; three 
uncles, Duron Davis, of Bergenfield, N.J.; W.P. Davis, of Fairburn, Ga.. and 
A.D. Davis, of LaGrange, Ga. The body will be taken to Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church for services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. 
Rosary services will be held at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, tonight at 
7:30 o'clock.
