Virginian-Pilot, June 25, 1907
The funeral of James W. Sullivan, who death occurred Saturday at the age of 23 
years, was held from the funeral apartments of H. D. Oliver, 520 Freemason 
Street, at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, and was numerously attended, including 
the Fraternal Order of Eagles, of which the deceased was a member. The floral 
tributes were of beautiful design. The service was conducted by Rev. Father 
John Doherty of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the interment was in Eagles' 
Square in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pallbearers: M. J. Lyons, John 
Whitehurst, Joseph Addison, W. G. Pettis, Joseph Swinson and Charles Rentz.
