Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, September 24, 1992 
Gladys Sumler, 92, of the 3800 block of Greenwood Drive, a retired playground
director, died Sept. 21, 1992, in a hospital.

Mrs. Sumler was born in Norfolk and had retired from the City of Norfolk. She
was a member of First Baptist Church Berkley, Norfolk.

Survivors include a daughter, Rose Mitchell of Portsmouth.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Berkley
by the Rev. William Tyree. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Pretlow & Sons
Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements.
