Norfolk-Ira D. (Harry) Summers, 70, retired restaurateur, died Thursday at 6:35 
p.m. in the home of his sister, Mrs. Adele S. Stallings of 3002 St. Mihiel Ave.
Born in Portsmouth, he lived 35 years at Virginia Beach, where he owned and 
operated Summers restaurant 30 years. He lived with his sister here the last 
two years.
He was a son of John C. and Mrs. Johan Peed Summers. Besides his sister, 
surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Gloria S. Landis of Norfolk and Mrs. Catherine 
McClellahan of Virginia Hills; three nephews, Robert L. Summers of Norfolk, 
George W. Summers of Richmond and Ernest Summers of San Diego Calif.
A funeral service will be conducted in Holloman Brown Funeral Home Saturday at 
2 p.m., with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
