NORFOLK - John Summerville of 1745 Elmwood Ave. died Friday in a hospital.

A native of Warrenton, N.C., he was a son of William and Mrs. Annie Summerville and
the husband of Mrs. Maude Summerville.

He was a member of Second Calvary Baptist Church and Usher Board.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Rudolph Braxton of New York, and
Luther Lee Holley of Detroit, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Audrey Bond, Mrs. Maurice
Gary and Mrs. Helen Hunt; a brother, Joseph Summerville; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary
Ausby and Mrs. Irene Banks, all of Norfolk; and nine grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in Second Calvary Baptist Church by
the Rev. H.W.B. Walker. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Graves Funeral Home
in charge.
