Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - February 24, 1993
Elaine Webber Sumpter, 77, of the 4000 block of Atlantic Ave., died Feb. 22, 
1993, in a Virginia Beach hospital. 
Mrs. Sumpter was a native of Norfolk and was the widow of Mayfield C. Sumpter. 
She was a member of First Presbyerian Church of Virginia Beach.
Survivors include two nieces, Nancy W. Allen of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Slade I. 
Plantinga of New Paltz, N.Y.; and two nephews, William S. Webber III of Ashland, 
Va., and Robert L. Ingram of Virginia Beach. 
A chapel service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 
Laskin Road Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will be at 4004 Atlantic 
Ave., Virginia Beach, Va. 23451. 
Memorial donations may be made to Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.
