The Virginian Pilot January 23, 1965
Luther Haskons Sutton, 69, of 611 Manteo St., died Friday at 11 a.m. in his 
home after illness of five weeks.
A native of Hertford, N.C., he was a son of Zacharias and Mrs. Annie Bond 
Sutton. He was a retired chief engineer of the Merchant Marine and lived here 
50 years.
Surviving are two sons, Gale Sutton and Earl Sutton of Norfolk a sister, Mrs. 
Mildred Briggen of Portsmouth a brother, C.B. Sutton of Dania, Fla.; and five 
grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, 
Chesapeake. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
