Sutton, wife of A. M. Sutton of 1103 Oaklawn avenue, were conducted at the First Baptist Church Sunday at 1:30 o’clock by the Rev. H. C. Hill. A native of Macon GA, and a well-known resident of Norfolk for the past 30 years, Mrs. Sutton was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. Hill of Macon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for many years, and will be remembered by many friends and acquaintances for her long and efficient service in her grocery store at 2444 Broad Creek road. Besides her husband, Mrs. Sutton is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell of Mullen SC, and Mrs. Mattie Harris of Cleveland OH; two brothers, John W. and George Hill, and two nieces, Mrs. Eunice Gilbert, of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Alice Knight of Norfolk. Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were Mrs. Lillie Williams of Starke FL; Mrs. Marye E. Booker, Mrs. Adella Love and Miss Essie E. (Or - rest of last name unclear) of Detroit MI. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with the J. H. Hale Funeral Home in charge.
