Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, December 5, 1990 
Joseph Sutton Sr., of the 1900 block of Greenleaf Drive, a retired construction
worker, died Dec. 2, 1990, in his home.

Mr. Sutton was a native of Rowland, N.C.

Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae Sutton; three daughters, Betty M. Sutton,
Beatrice Sutton and Christine Sutton, and two sons, Joseph Sutton Jr. and Jimmie
Sutton, all of Norfolk; six sisters, Dolly Long and Willie M. Hamilton, both of
Philadelphia, Martha L. McClearn, Mary Williams and Bernice Edwards, all of
Selma, N.C., and Hazel Thompson of Rowland; five brothers, Walter Sutton of
Norfolk, Charles A. Sutton and Johnnie Sutton, both of Harrisburg, Pa., Marvin
Sutton of South Carolina and Edward McEachein of California; and seven
grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Hale Funeral Home by the Rev.
J.L. Kearney Sr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may join the
family at 1102 Godfrey Ave.
