NORFOLK - James Patrick (Pat) Sweeney, 72, of 1322 E. Ocean View Ave., the 
husband of Mrs. Blanche Coffey Sweeney and retired owner-operator of James P. 
Sweeney Wholesale Meat Co., died Tuesday at 5 a.m. in his home.
A native of Norfolk, he was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Other survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Theresa Coppridge and Mrs. Mary 
Davenport of Norfolk, Mrs. Martha West of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Edith 
Flowers of White Stone, Va., and nieces and nephews.
A Christian Wake service will be held today at 6 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral 
Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. 
in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery by the Rev. Fr. Thomas Collins.
