Virginian-Pilot May 16, 1978

Michelle Karen Sweeney, 11, a daughter of Thomas W. and Mrs. Barbara Bilinski 
Sweeney and a Portsmouth native, died Saturday in Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
She was a student at James Madison Elementary School and was a member of St. 
Pius X Catholic Church.
Besides her parents, survivors include two sisters, Teresa Ann Sweeney and 
Catherine Marie Sweeney of Norfolk; five brothers, Thomas John Sweeney, Hubert 
Lee Sweeney, Donald Warren Sweeney, James Michael Sweeney and Sean Richard 
Sweeney of Norfolk; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Sweeney of 
Medford, Mass.
A Christian Wake service will be held tonight at 7:30 in H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X 
Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family asks that memorial 
donations be made to the Trinitarian Fathers c/o of St. Pius X. Catholic Church 
or to Fr. Edwin Dill, S.T., Box 30 Silver Spring, Md. 20910

SWEENEY, MICHELLE KAREN – In a Portsmouth hospital, Saturday, MICHELLE KAREN 
SWEENEY, daughter of Thomas W. and Mrs. Barbara Bilinski Sweeney, in the 11th 
year of her age. The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 
Norfolk, to St. Pius X Catholic Church for a funeral mass to be celebrated 
Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial, St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family asks that memorial 
donations be made to the Trinitarian Fathers c/o St. Pius X Catholic Church or 
to Fr. Edwin Dill S. T., Box 30, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
