NORFOLK - Jane Marie Luman Sweeney, 52, of the 8100 block of Dellwood Ct., entered 
into eternal rest Feb. 7, 2002.

Mrs. Sweeney was born in Bogalusa, La. She moved around the country with her Navy 
family and settled in Norfolk. Jane was employed as a legal secretary by Seawell, 
Dalton, Hughes, Gore and Timms for 14 years. With the birth of her daughters, she 
dedicated her life to being a loving wife and mother. Volunteering and helping 
with education were also a main focus of her life. She immensely enjoyed her work 
of 11 years as a guidance secretary at Catholic High School in Virginia Beach.

Jane will be dearly missed by her husband, James Sweeney of Norfolk; her two 
daughters, Regina and Bridget Sweeney; her parents, Odessa and Charlie Luman all 
of Norfolk; her sisters, Kay Donnelly of Woodbridge, Va., Angela Johnson of 
Norfolk, Theresa Stanzak of Haltom City, Texas, Susan Moser of Weatherford, Texas; 
two brothers, Roy Luman of Weatherford, Texas and Roger Luman of Walnut Creek, 
Calif.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Pius X 
Catholic Church by Father Francis Muench. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic 
Cemetery. Friends may join the family at St. Pius X Reception Hall following the 
interment. A Christian Wake service will be held on Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at 
H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sentara Home Care and 
Hospice, 535 Independence Pkwy., Suite 200, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
