Mrs. Sweet, the widow of Edward J. Sweet, had retired from the civil service at Norfolk Naval Supply Center. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Chesapeake. Survivors include two sons, Harry Linton of Queens, N.Y., and Thomas S. Linton of Columbia, S.C.; a sister, Joseph Crosswhite, and a brother, William Phillips, both of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, where the family will be after the service.
