A native of Meadow Bridge, W.Va., he had lived here 33 years. He was a retired electrician with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Norfolk Local 80, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Southside Baptist Church, South Norfolk Masonic Lodge 339, and Norfolk Moose Lodge 39. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Martha V. Meiss of Virginia Beach; a son, Jackie S. Sweetwood of Virginia Beach; and two stepsons, Charlie Harris and Don Harris of Chesapeake. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk, by the Rev. Bobbie H. Belcher. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to a charity of one's choice.
