CHESAPEAKE - Anne Rose Brady Swords, 92, went to her final resting place Nov. 7, 
2004. Born in Trenton, N.J., on Dec. 31, 1911, Anne was the daughter of Benjamin 
Joseph and Cecilia McGarrigle Brady. She was the widow of Robert Lois Swords. Anne 
was a resident of Norfolk for 56 years and a longtime parishioner of Christ the 
King Catholic Church, where she was a former member of the Altar Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Arlene Anne Eyler and husband Lee of Norfolk and 
Lois Anne Swords of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren, Hank, Chris, Rob, Matt, Allisan, 
Jamie and Leanne Eyler, Katie Humphrey, Laura Stalls and Rachel Helvy; 11 great-
grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
"Nauna" will always be remembered for her zest for life and her wonderful Irish 
sense of humor. She is dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church Friday at 
10 a.m. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
