 The Virginian Pilot Thursday June 29, 1972
Miss Julia Mae Sykes, 75, of 4207 Surf Ave., died Tuesday evening in a Norfolk 
hospital.
A native of Bethel, she was a daughter of George W. and Mrs. Hattie Speight 
Sykes.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ernest Ellis of Norfolk; and three brothers, 
Kenneth Sykes of Scottsville, and George Sykes and John Sykes of Chesapeake.
A funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. in Magnolia Cemetery by the 
Rev. Harold Heath. Francis A. Gay Funeral Home has charge.
