Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Sunday November 27, 1927
C.L. Sykes - Funeral services for Mr. Sykes, Spanish-American War veteran, who 
died Friday morning at the National Soldiers' Home, Hampton, will be conducted at 
3:30 o'clock this afternoon at the funeral home of J.R. Williams, 13 Chesapeake 
avenue, South Norfolk.  The South Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department, of which Mr. 
Sykes was a member, has been called out to attend the services in a body.  The 
Rev. O.D. Poythress, pastor of the South Norfolk Christian Church, will officiate. 

Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
