Norfolk Virginian Pilot Thursday March 17, 1949
SYKES, HATTIE PENELOPE - At a local hospital Tuesday night, March 15, 1949, at 
10:30 o'clock, HATTIE PENELOPE SYKES, daughter of the late Kenneth and Nettie 
Meggs Speight and widow of George W. Sykes, in the 73d year of her age. The body 
was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson streets, South 
Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted THIS (Thursday) AFTERNOON at 4 
o'clock. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
