Virginian Pilot April 12, 1906

Mrs. Belle M. Sykes died at the residence of her brother, Geo. K. Hathaway 
53 N. Main Street yesterday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock after an illness of 
ten days.
The deceased was a daughter of the late John R. and Anna E. Hathaway, and 
was 38 years old.  She was well known and had a large number of friends.
The funeral will be conducted from the above named residence this afternoon 
at 4:30 o'clock with Rev. E.W. Cowling, rector of St. Thomas' Episcopal 
Church officiating.  The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Belle M. Sykes was conducted from the residence 
of her brother, George K. Hathaway, in North Main Street, yesterday 
afternoon at 4:30 o'clock.  Rev. E.W. Cowling, rector of St. Thomas 
Episcopal Church, officiated.
The attendance was very large and numerous flowers were laid on the mound in 
Magnolia Cemetery.
