Knox-High Mortuary, Inc.

Mrs. Kay Sandra Joyner Sykes, age 80, of Emporia, Virginia, transitioned into
eternal rest on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025; while in the serenity of her home. 

Kay, a daughter of the late Dr. Willie D. Joyner and Nellie Holmes Joyner, was born
on Sunday, July 29th, 1945 in Emporia, Virginia. She was the widow of the the late
Lawyer Sykes.  

In accordance with Mrs. Sykes' wishes, there will be no memorial service held. Her
burial will be private, attended only by close family. The location of her resting
place will be announced later to give friends, loved ones, and members of the
community the opportunity to visit and pay their respects in their own way and in
their own time. Mrs. Sykes' family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to
the community for the love, respect, and appreciation shown for her and the values
she brought to those around her.
