The Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 22, 1937
Mrs. Urania Sykes, aged 88 years, a native of Isle of Wight County and a 
resident of Norfolk for the past 50 years, died yesterday morning at 3 o'clock 
at a local hospital.  For the past six years, she had resided at the Episcopal 
Church Home.  She was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Church.  Surviving her 
are two great-grandchildren.  Services will be held at H.D. Oliver's funeral 
apartments, 610-12 East Freemason street, this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, with 
the Rev. E.P. Miner, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and Chaplain of the 
Episcopal Church Home, officiating.  Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
