Norfolk Virginian August 10, 1884

                         Death of Mr. W.H. Talbot

A telegram received in this city yesterday announced the death at Rockbridge 
Alum Springs of Mr. W.H. Talbot, a prominent citizen of this city, in the 
60th year of his age.
He had been in delicate health for some time past, and had gone to the 
springs in the hope of recuperating, but death overtook him all too soon.
Mr. Talbot was born and raised in this city, and no man was better known 
than he.  He was engaged for a long time past in farming, owned considerable 
real estate in the city.  He was a man of strict integrity and had a high 
regard for an obligation.  He has many warm friends in this city who will be 
pained to hear of his death.  He leaves five children, two sons and three 
daughters, all of whom are under age, but his wife, a daughter of Dr. 
Wright, died several years ago.
