Warner and Fannie J. Taliaferro. (NOTE: Changed May to Maj.) *********************************************************************** The death of Miss Fannie J. Taliaferro is reported as occurring at Glasgow, Scotland, where she has been for some time with friends. Miss Taliaferro was the daughter of the late Mr. Warner T. Taliaferro and formerly lived in Norfolk. (NOTE: Changed Warren to Warner) Virginian Pilot April 19, 1896 ************************************************** Funeral of Miss Taliaferro The remains of Miss Fannie Johnston Taliaferro, who died in Glasgow, Scotland, on April 16th last, arrived here yesterday morning, and were interred in Elmwood Cemetery, after services at St. Luke's P.E. Church by the rector, Rev. Arthur S. Lloyd and Rev. R.S. Coupland. The funeral was largely attended by friends of the deceased young lady, who was extremely popular here. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Walter F. Irvine, Jr., R.C. Taylor, Jr., W.H. Thompson Loyall, W.H. Thompson, H. Tyler Smith, J. Pierson Williams, Frank W. Taylor, and Tazewell Taylor. Miss Taliaferro was the daughter of the late Warner T. and Fannie J. Taliaferro, of this city. Only one of the family survives, Mr. Thomas Taliaferro, her brother. She was prominent in society circles here and on account of her lovable qualities and loving disposition was the center of the strong attachment of hundreds of true friends. She went to Glasgow some four years ago to visit relatives there and returned last year on a visit of some months. She was with her aunt when she died. Up to a few hours before that sad event her condition was much improved and there were hopes for her recovery. Her death is a grievous blow to those who knew and loved her. Virginian Pilot May 8, 1896 *************************************************************** The funeral of Miss Fannie Johnston Taliaferro, daughter of the late Warner T. and Fannie J. Taliaferro, of this city, who died in Glasgow, Scotland, April 16th, took place from St. Luke's Church yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock, Revs. A.S. Lloyd and R.S. Coupland officiating. The pallbearers were Walter F. Irvine, Jr., R.C. Taylor, Jr., W.H.T. Loyall, W.H. Thompson, A. Tyler Smith, J. Pearson Williams, Frank W. Taylor and Tazewell Taylor. The interment was in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery. The early demise of this most estimable young lady caused deep sorrow among the many friends of the deceased.
