Kitty was predeceased by her husband, Dr. William L. Taliaferro and her granddaughter Ruth Morgan Thrasher. She is survived by her children William L. Taliaferro, Jr., his wife Sarah; Mary Ann Wentzel, her husband Arleigh; Nina Taliaferro, her husband Frank Kukula; and Martha Thrasher, her husband Dr. Patrick Thrasher. She is also survived by her grandchildren William Thrasher, Robert Thrasher, Leah Taliaferro, William L. Taliaferro, III and her two great grandchildren Mason and Hunter Savage. She also leaves behind her friend and companion Barbara Jean Bass. Kitty was born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in Norfolk, Va. She was a graduate of Maury High School and St. Vincent De Paul School of Nursing, class of 1937. Her passion for learning, her service to others (teaching reading at the Norfolk City Jail), her travels (riding an elephant in India at age 83), her openness to new ideas were all part of her adventurous spirit. She continued to grow with the change of times and circumstances, surrounding herself with a diverse group of friends. "I do not know what to expect, but I expect love from here to eternity." James Carroll Services and internment are private. The family will be receiving friends Saturday, February 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the home of Martha and Pat Thrasher, 7408 Millbrook Rd., Norfolk, Va. 23505.
