Philip Boswell Taliaferro, U. S. A., Retired — The body of Major Taliaferro, husband of Mrs. Anna McCarrick Taliaferro and son of the late Albert and Mrs. Mary Louise Taliaferro, whose death occurred Saturday morning at Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, D. C., was taken from the residence of Antonio J. Smith, 408 West Bute street, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for funeral services this morning at 10 o'clock. The Rev. E. P. Kilgalen, pastor, officiated. The Rev E. A. Brosnan, the Rev, Leo J. Ryan and the Rev. A. Canas were present in the sanctuary. During the service, Vincent Smith sang, "Benedictus" and "Veni Jesu," with Prof. J. Harvey Stevens, organist. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket was draped with an American flag. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Services at the grave were conducted by Father Ryan. The pallbearers were H. Clarkson Meredith, Earl Taliaferro, Albert M. Edwards, Maj. Frank Edgecomb, U. S. A., John Willis, 3rd, Dr. N. G. Wilson, John Tabb, Charles G. Hunter, Benj. B. Burroughs and Maj. Perry Lewis, U. S. A. At the conclusion of the mass, the Rev. E. A. Brosnan spoke of Maj. Taliaferro’s loyalty to his God, his church and his country.
