Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, May 12, 1994 
Grace Elizabeth Tanner, 72, of the 7000 block of Auburn Ave., died May 10, 1994,
in a local hospital.

She was born in Norfolk and was retired. She was a member of Rose of Sharon
Baptist Church, Chesapeake.

Survivors include five sisters, Julia Scott, Lillie Mae Tanner, Eva Carter,
Behulah Tanner and Gladys Vidal, all of Norfolk; a niece that loved her dearly,
Gilda Chavis; two great-nieces, Karen Chavis and Alicia Chavis; and one
great-nephew, Kevin Chavis, all of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and
friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Cemetery by
the Rev. Moses Davis Sr. Family and friends will assemble at the residence at
noon Saturday. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
