Norfolk - A funeral service for Armstead Tanner of 1335 W. 44th street was 
conducted Saturday in Rose of Sharon Baptist Church by the Rev. O. B. Burson. 
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home officiating.

A Norfolk native, Mr. Tanner was a son of Leon Tanner and husband of Mrs. Evelyn 
R. Tanner. He was a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. He died in a 
hospital after a short illness.

Surviving, besides his father and widow, are his stepmother, Mrs. Evelyn L. 
Tanner; two brothers, Leon M. Tanner and Charles H. Tanner; and two sisters, 
Mrs. Alice Hood and Miss Maxine Tanner, all of Norfolk; and a stepsister, Mrs. 
Sandra Butler of Chesapeake.
