Virginian-Pilot, - Sunday, July 8, 1990 
Norman Lester Tarkenton, 41, a self-employed editorial cartoonist, died July 6, 
1990, in a Norfolk hospital.



Mr. Tarkenton, a native of Norfolk, was a member of Kempsville Presbyterian 
Church.



Survivors include his wife, Martha A. Tarkenton; a daughter, Andrea D. 
Tarkenton; and two sons, Jeffrey A. Tarkenton and Allen C. Tarkenton, all of 
Virginia Beach; and two sisters, Karen Rasmussen of Minnesota and Robin Dix of 
Portsmouth.



A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Kempsville 
Presbyterian Church by the Rev. David Anderson and the Rev. Andrew Jackson. A 
committal service will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family 
at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday.
