Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark March 31, 1924

James Walter Tarrant died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in the residence, 
129 Marlowe Avenue, Ocean View, in the fifty-sixth year of his age.  He had been 
ill only a short time.  He had been a resident of Norfolk all his life.  Surviving 
him are his wife, Mrs. Adele L. Tarrant; a daughter, Mrs. J.N. Edwards; two 
brothers, W.C. and B. Tarrant, of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Mary V. Cherry, of 
Washington, and five grandchildren.  Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
