A native of Mecklenberg County, she had been a resident of Norfolk and Norfolk County for a number of years. She was a daughter of the late Benjamin Thomas and Mrs. Mary Louisa Cherry Tatem. Miss Tatem was a member of the Episcopal Church. Surviving are three nieces, Miss Louisa Tatem, Mrs. S.B. Pretlow and Miss Laura Garrett, all of Norfolk; a nephew, H. Lawrence Garrett, of Miami, Fla., and a great nephew, James B. Pretlow, of Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. David C. George, rector of St. Bride's Episcopal Church Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
