N. Tatem, a well-known young man of the ward, died yesterday morning at 2 o'clock at the Lawford Hospital, after a brief illness of pneumonia, which produced heart failure. The deceased was born at Wilson, N.C. and had been a resident of Berkley for the past thirty-four years. He was the son of the late Dr. George W. Tatem and Mrs. Mary N. Tatem, of this place. Mr. Tatem was a merchant of this city, having an establishment in Bank street, Norfolk. He was a member of St. Thomas' P.E. Church. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. A.J. Massey and one brother, W.H. Tatem. He was 37 years old. Mr. Tatem was taken ill on Sunday night and was sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon. His condition had however gotten beyond the reach of physicians before he was sent to the hospital. He lived with his brother, W.H. Tatem, at Maple avenue and Fourth street, where the funeral will take place this afternoon at 3 o'clock, and will be conducted by the Rev. E.W. Cowling, assisted by Rev. Robert Gatewood, D.D. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
