Tatem died Sunday morning at 3:45 o'clock at the residence of Captain John Cason, on Chestnut Street, after a lingering illness of several weeks. Mr. Tatem was among the best known residents of the town and had a host of relatives and friends here, where he lived until a few years ago, when he made Norfolk his home. Herbert Scholz, assisted by Rev. Robert Gatewood, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. The attendance was very large and there were many beautiful flowers in evidence of the kindly feeling in which he was held.
